Laser Hair Removal

Most women are constantly struggling to get rid of hair in unwanted areas such as the bikini area, legs, arms, armpits and face; they often try quick and painless methods such as raking, to the use of painful hot or cold waxing with the risk of burning or staining the skin.

The use of laser for permanent hair removal is a painless method where heat is transmitted to the hair through the melanin thus reaching the root of the hair follicle cauterizing and preventing further growth.

How is hair removal performed?

Laser hair removal is a cosmetic treatment that does require to be planned in advance. The procedure is not very invasive, however it is very important to have a medical evaluation to determine the intensity of heat that will be given to the laser and this will be modified according to the area to be treated, the thickness of the hair and the phototype to which our skin belongs in order to have a good result.

The treatment is applied to the shaved area one day in advance so that the laser can enter the melanocyte hair with a day of growth and thus facilitate cauterize the follicle, it is important that the skin in the area to be treated has not been tanned for at least 15 to 30 days.

Who are candidates?

The ideal candidates for this procedure are all those who want to get rid of hair permanently. It is necessary to be over 16 years old, it is better not to have tattoos on the area to be depilated so that it does not suffer deformations or alterations in their pigments. It is also important to assess the type of phototype (skin color) of each patient.

Diode laser hair removal does not cause pain since a cold conductive gel is used, however in areas where the hair is thicker there may be minimal discomfort that is controlled with the use of a topical anesthetic.

It takes 7 to 10 minutes per area since our diode laser is the latest technology and is handled by means of a scanning technique, which facilitates its application.

The laser hair removal method does not require recovery as it is a non-invasive and painless method, however, it is recommended that the 3 days after hair removal, no strong sun exposure is made, sunscreen is used and that the skin of the area or areas to be treated is not exposed to another method of hair removal until the period of your new session has passed.

Diode laser hair removal provides a permanent result, however, in areas such as the face, hair may reappear many years after the treatment has been completed due to hormonal changes in the case of women.
